Inyo County VINELink Coverage
VINELink offers custody-status searches plus free victim notification for agencies that feed it data. Inyo County rides on California's statewide deployment. There is no separate Inyo-branded VINE page. Some third-party directories list Inyo among participants, but the live service governs. Pick California first. Then confirm the county and system choices. Trust only what the current screen actually offers before you lean on them.
The service tracks one named person. It never reproduces the whole Inyo County arrest log, and a no-match has many explanations. Processing lag can hide a record. A spelling difference, release, or a different custody system can too.
The California VINELink person-search screen shows where the state lookup starts.

The screen above shows the state search form itself. It displays no saved custody result. Fields and system choices live on the live page. Treat it as a map, not a record.
Check an Inyo County Arrest
Start with details that separate people who share a name. VINELink may take an offender or booking identifier too. The form is dynamic, so trust the labels you see over any assumed layout. A similar name proves nothing.
- Open the California person search and select the California state or various-counties system shown in the live menu.
- Enter the person's legal name as accurately as possible. Add an identifier only when it comes from an official record.
- Review every match for the reporting agency, facility, status, and identifier. Do not rely on the name alone.
- Open the matching record and note when its custody information was supplied or updated, if stated.
- When no result appears, check the official county channel that matches the question.
A brand-new arrest may show on the county's 24 Hour Arrests page. VINE can lag behind on status. That route covers the short public window right after booking. The jail can confirm current custody too. Call the Inyo County Jail at 760-878-0370; staff share only what verification and the law allow.
Inyo VINELink Result Fields
What shows up depends on the agency behind the data. Read only the fields the live record displays. No category is promised for every Inyo County record. Treat these categories as common, not guaranteed.
| Possible field | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Custody status | The status reported by the agency, subject to transmission delay. |
| Current location | The facility supplied to VINE; confirm urgent location questions directly. |
| Offender or booking ID | An identifier that helps separate people with similar names. |
| Release date | A date shown only when supplied; it may later be revised. |
| Agency or case data | Limited reporting details, not a complete police report or court docket. |
A custody result is thin by design. It does not stand in for a booking report, a charging document, or a court disposition. For booking facts, go to the county source. For the final case outcome, the court record decides.
Register for Inyo Custody Alerts
Registration starts from a matching person record or the notification control in the live flow. California public-agency guidance describes telephone registration. The number is 877-411-5588. You pick a four-digit PIN. Some alert flows keep calling until it is entered. Service runs in English and Spanish. Confirm current terms on VINELink, since these are statewide rules rather than an Inyo-specific promise.
- Verify the person and reporting system before selecting “Register for Notification” or its current equivalent.
- Choose a phone, text, email, or other channel only if the live service offers it.
- Create the requested four-digit PIN for telephone confirmation and keep it private.
- Review the events offered, such as release, transfer, or another custody change, then complete confirmation.
- Save the registration details and update the contact channel if it changes.
The general VINELink service screen provides the current entry point and support options.

The page shown here marks the service entry point. It holds no registration of its own. Read the options from the live person record instead. Workflows can change.
VINE and RIMS Stay Separate
California VINE and Inyo Sheriff Citizen RIMS do different jobs. VINE watches custody status and takes alert registrations. Citizen RIMS is the county's browser-based public records interface. It carries recent activity and booking information. A person can show up in one system long before the other.
The split matters most after a Bishop arrest. Local processing can happen first. Transport to the Inyo County Jail in Independence may follow. Public systems can lag behind both. For a fresh county booking, RIMS is the better first stop. VINELink earns its keep later. Use it once you want to follow one custody record and get alerts.
California Prison Notification Path
County jail and state prison are different worlds. The CDCR victim-services program points people to VINE for county custody. After a transfer to state custody, a separate CDCR notification system takes over. CDCR keeps victim contact information confidential within that process.
For someone committed to a California state prison, CDCR's incarcerated-records search may list a CDCR number, current location, commitment counties, admission information, and parole-hearing data. This is not a routine Inyo County pretrial lookup. That landing page marks the separate route. It belongs to the state, not the county.

Save the state search for after a commitment or a transfer. A missing match there means little. It says nothing firm about a recent Inyo County arrest. County questions still start with RIMS and VINELink.
Keep Inyo Alert Details Private
Privacy comes first with any Inyo County custody alert. The CDCR victim-services office stresses that victim contact information stays confidential. VINELink posts its own terms and privacy notices when you register. Register with a phone number or email you control. Keep the four-digit PIN private. Also keep the alert channel away from anyone who should not see the notice.
An alert helps with planning. It cannot replace a real safety plan, and it cannot stop a transfer or control agency decisions. Notice of a release may arrive late, too. Anyone facing an immediate threat should call 911, and a victim advocate or the prosecuting agency can lay out the available support.
Inyo Custody Check Limits
VINELink has limits. It does not cover every kind of custody in Inyo County or elsewhere. Federal prison cases belong to the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator. That locator may still miss some federal pretrial detainees. Immigration detention runs through the ICE detainee locator instead. No Inyo-specific federal or immigration holding arrangement exists.
Timeliness matters as well, since release dates can shift and facilities can change. An alert may land after the fact. When timing counts, keep more than one safe contact plan. A stale county result deserves a comparison with Citizen RIMS and a call to the jail. For charges or case outcomes, the Inyo Superior Court is the right place, not VINE.
Note: Live participation, labels, and notification channels can change, so confirm each detail in the current California VINELink interface.
Inyo County arrest information moves fast. A quick recheck saves confusion. Trust the live screen over any saved summary.
